Hendy Car Store Portsmouth were great

I would not recommend Hendy Car Store Portsmouth because I have been given a car that has brake lights that are not fully functioning, a rear seatbelt that locks the belt in place even when trying to leave/does not accept the male part of the seatbelt. The interior of the car is extremely dirty. This was not mentioned when buying it online. I also have a single crossbar still attached to the car that I cannot remove.

I'd recommend Hendy Car Store Portsmouth to a friend because our dealings with the company were excellent, especially the help from the sales representative Marian made the whole process as smooth as possible.

The experience at Hendy Car Store Portsmouth was good because I wanted the particular car that I could only find in Hendy in Portsmouth. I first contacted Hendy in Exeter because the car appeared on their list and it is about a 20-25 minute drive away from my home. They explained that the car was in Hendy Portsmouth so I asked if the car could be moved to Exeter. The man I was talking to said no because they would have to buy the car from the Portsmouth dealer. I was even prepared to pay for the cost of the transportation of the car but I was told that was not possible. So I had to arrange a lift to Portsmouth which took 4 hours. Fortunately I liked the car after the test drive and I decided to buy it. I didn’t register the fact that the lighting in the show room where we first looked at the car was not bright and neither my daughter or myself noticed quite serious damage to the paintwork of the roof above the windscreen which we only noticed after the sales transaction had taken place and we had driven to the nearest petrol station where the car was parked in bright sunshine. I think that should have been pointed out to us during our first inspection of the car. I will have to get that repainted because there was rust developing. I would suggest that, when cleaning the car, the inside of the windscreen is cleaned properly because, by the time we set off on the return 4 hour drive home the sun started to get low in the sky which highlighted the dirty smeared inside of the windscreen. This shouldn’t be a problem for new vehicles but for used cars I think it is extremely important for every road users safety that both the inside AND outside of the windscreen is very clean. Another smaller matter is that the drivers footwell still had debris under the pedals.
The salesman Ash did a good job though trying to get the car ready to be driven away.
It took some time and three phone calls made by me for all the paperwork to be sent to me by email which is something that I found difficult to understand why it took three calls before I had everything that I needed.
